Exploring the future: How UCAS Discovery events support Gatsby Benchmarks

UCAS Discovery events are more than just higher education fairs. They're powerful experiences that support key Gatsby Benchmarks for good career guidance in schools and colleges.

These nationwide events give students the chance to explore a wide range of post-16 and post-18 options, helping to fulfill Gatsby Benchmark 7 by providing meaningful encounters with further and higher education. Whether it’s touring university campuses or diving into specialist sessions in fields like performing arts and graphic design, students gain invaluable exposure to real-life learning environments.

UCAS Discovery also supports Benchmark 2 (Learning from career and labour market information) and Benchmark 5 (Encounters with employers and employees) through live talks, interactive exhibits, and one-on-one advice from university reps and industry professionals.

The Discovery tour helps young people make informed, confident decisions about their futures.
