Growing up in the Solomon Islands, I've always felt a deep connection to the ocean. This passion led me to pursue an LLM in International Trade and Maritime Law here at the University of Essex. My goal is to ensure sustainable maritime practices and address legal challenges like cybersecurity threats and autonomous vessels. I aim to start as a regulatory compliance specialist and eventually become a policy advisor, shaping trade policies that protect our marine environment. I'm Georgia, a 19 year old Classics student from a small town near Reading! After studying both Latin and Greek in school, I have taken a step back from Ancient languages for my first year at uni to explore different sides to classics. Now due to both my language experience from school and what I have learnt at uni, I feel I can give you an accurate view on what Classics at Warwick is like, and answer any further questions you might have! Additionally, coming from a small town with nothing but a single costa coffee shop, moving to the University of Warwick was a big change in how I began to live my life! I had previous experience in staying away from home and my family before university, therefore i'm always happy to chat about the experiences of moving away from home! One of my biggest fears about coming to uni was that I would not be able to make any friends, as I had previously had struggles with making friends at school, but I immediately hit it off with several of my flatmates, who had similar interests as me thanks to Warwick's accommodation quiz! From there I was able to meet even more friends through my course, and through societies like Mixed Hockey! In short, I have never been happier than I am now at Warwick, and I have really been able to express the real me at university! Feel free to ask me questions about any area of life here at Warwick and I will do my best to help and advise you!

I am a postgraduate research candidate in the Global Sustainable Development Department, School for Cross-faculty Studies at the University of Warwick. Awarded a Chancellor's International Scholarship by the Doctoral College at the University of Warwick to undertake my research focusing on the nexus between women empowerment and ecotourism in protected areas in sub-Saharan Africa. I have worked in academia for over 10 years, and currently I am a senior lecturer at Mzuzu University, a public university in Malawi. My responsibilities, among others, include lecturing, research supervision, and leadership. I am passionate about working in higher education and conducting research.
