This is my second degree, my first degree was BSc Adult Nursing which I gained in 2015. I worked as a surgical nurse for 3 years nearly but it just wasn’t for me. I have 3 boys at home 13, 7 and 5 so I am currently juggling mum life and uni life 🤣👌

After doing my A levels in Chemistry, Maths, and Psychology, I wasn't sure what to do next. I chose to come to Glasgow because of the flexibility they offered with their degree plans; I initially enrolled in a Psychology degree, but have since changed my degree to Chemistry! Hi! My name is Kiera and I am a 4th year Neuroscience MSci student at the University of Glasgow. Outside of my studies I love to sing and perform on stage in musicals - it is a great way to relax and express myself! I chose to study Neuroscience as I find the complexity of the brain fascinating, and there is so much to learn about on this course. I started on the BSc degree and transferred to the MSci program at the end of 3rd year. I am a third year common law student from London. After university I plan to train to be a barrister. I am currently on a year abroad in Singapore - so if you have any questions about study abroad I'm more than happy to help!

Around campus, I'm usually quite busy. I've been a Welcome Week Helper - so I can tell you a lot about what to expect from Welcome Week. I've also been elected to student council twice - once as General Representative and most recently as Charities Officer. I've always looked to get involved in student societies and have been involved in the Bar and Advocacy society, Raising and Giving Society as well as the Law Review. 

I also love sports! I used to play for Glasgow uni's football team every Wednesday in first year. More recently, I have taken part in boxing as part of Student Fight Night. On my year abroad, I have also taken up rugby which has been great fun.

I’m a French electrician and engineer passionate about innovation in energy systems. My career began in Luxembourg and Belgium, where I worked as an electrician, before relocating to Scotland in 2009. I continued my trade in Scotland before pursuing further education, achieving an HNC and HND in Electrical Engineering at Glasgow Clyde College.

Beyond work, I’m an avid F1 and rugby union fan and love travelling Scotland on my motorbike. I also have a deep appreciation for exploring new cultures around the world.

Currently, I’m focused on the transformative challenges of electrical energy production and consumption. I’m particularly driven by the goal of decarbonising the grid by 2050, aiming to play a role in shaping a more sustainable energy future.
